Receptor, the hardware host from Muse Research is getting some good props for being the ultimate sound engine for electronic drummers. Supported plugs include BFD and BFD lite from FXpansion, as well as DFH Superior and Custom & Vintage from Toontrack. The latest drum package to get the all clear is Battery 2.1 from Native Instruments – a software sampler designed for drum samples. To gain access to the User Installable version of Battery 2.1, you must already own, and have access to, the original version of Battery; the installer prepares your Receptor to receive the data files from the original CD/DVD, and installs Receptorized patches for the plug-in's presets.
