DJ Shadow & Dan The Automator

DJ Shadow and Dan the Automator are here to revisit the legendary Glue Factory in San Fransisco, which spawned some of the late 90s most iconic hiphop records. Visiting for the first time since the late 90s, the two explore the weird, claustrophobic space recounting how the albums were made - including Dan the Automator's first big album Dr Octogon, with Kool Keith, before he went on to make the iconic Deltron 3030 album. DJ Shadow's Entroducing (which recently celebrated a 30th Anniversary) was also partially recorded here, and was released in 1996. Here's more... 

29 years ago, I wrapped up my last session at Dan The Automator's original home studio- the quirky, claustrophobic space which spawned Endtroducing, Dr. Octagon, and many other classics.  I always wondered if it was still there, and whether I'd be able to revisit it for old times' sake.  I asked a friend to film as we cracked open the doors of the legendary Glue Factory for the first time since 1997- join us!
