Audiocube has launched Audiocube Space, a spatial audio plugin that embeds a complete 3D acoustic environment inside any major DAW. They say that producers and sound designers can place, move, and process audio anywhere in a 360° virtual space.
Developer, Noah, told us, "While experimenting with ways to bring the standalone Audiocube application into traditional DAW workflows, I realised the best approach was to rebuild its engine as a plugin. Now users can simply insert Audiocube Space anywhere in their DAW and access 3D audio processing directly. My goal is to bridge the gap between conventional DAWs and 3D audio technology."
Here's more details direct from the company...
Spatial audio is a rapidly growing field in music production, but the tools have typically meant juggling fragmented plugin chains and fiddly automation. Space solves this with a single interface that combines sound placement, room simulation, movement automation, and creative sound design.
At a glance
- Place and move sound anywhere in a 360° acoustic space, inside your DAW
- Link plugin instances to control every source from one visual interface
- Shared, freely movable listening position across all linked tracks
- Custom reverb engine: 10 room shapes, 11 surface materials, plus impulse response import
- Output from stereo and binaural (HRTF included) to 9.1.6 and fully custom speaker arrays
- Real-time automation recording and BPM-synced motion presets
- Integrated spatial granulator with key/scale-linked pitching, ADSR, and feedback
- macOS and Windows - VST3, AU, AAX
One interface, every source
A unique workflow feature is linkable plugin instances. Insert Space on multiple tracks, sync them, and position every sound source from a single cohesive 3D view. A shared, freely movable listening position keeps perspective consistent across the whole project - replacing hours of fiddly per-channel automation editing with direct, visual control.Acoustic simulation with real depth
The custom reverb engine offers 10 room shapes and 11 surface materials, letting users design a space rather than just dial in a preset. Impulse response import brings real-world acoustics into the environment, and air simulation adds distance-dependent realism - instantly giving dry, digital sources a sense of physical presence. From headphones to installations
Space scales from stereo and binaural (with an included HRTF process for immersive headphone mixes) through standard surround formats up to 9.1.6 - and fully custom speaker arrays. The same session can serve a bedroom binaural mix, a surround dubbing stage, or a multi-speaker sound installation.Movement and sound design
Motion can be recorded as real-time automation or shaped with BPM-synced motion presets for fluid, tempo-locked changes in depth and width. An integrated granular processor generates spatialized clouds of sound, with key, chord, and scale-linked pitching, ADSR enveloping, feedback, and BPM sync - built for sound designers creating vast, controlled soundscapes.About Audiocube
Audiocube is an independent music software company based in Bristol, UK, founded by developer Noah Feasey-Kemp. Its flagship standalone application, Audiocube Studio, is a 3D digital audio workstation for spatial composition and sound design. Audiocube Space brings that spatial engine into conventional DAW workflows.Pricing and Availability:
Audiocube Space is available now for $50 (one-time purchase) for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats. A free trial is available.
