Superbooth 2026: Rodec Sidestepper Stereo Ducking and Gating

US sequenced stereo ducks      08/05/26

At Superbooth 2026 we spoke with Tom from Rodec who discussed the release of the Side Stepper, a new module for their One product line. This piece of equipment serves as an analog ducking gating machine with a discrete VCA and FET-based design. What sets it apart is the integration of a step sequencer that outputs a pulse in stereo, which can be used for sidechaining to dock or gate sequences.

The module features modes for step editing and pattern editing and includes a dry-wet control, attack-decay adjustments, and the ability to tune the pulse chromatically. The Side Stepper offers diverse use-cases, functioning both as a performance tool and for creative sequencing in live or studio settings. It can be clocked via USB or MIDI sync, enhancing its flexibility.

Priced at under €500, the Side Stepper will be available mid-year. A package with the module and additional components is priced at €750. Tom emphasized that availability on their website, Rodek.com, will coincide with product stock to avoid pre-order anxieties.
