Sentinel AV has released Folda, described as a 4-Group morphing distortion plugin for Windows and macOS. They say that Folda blends four independent distortion groups across a real-time 2D GRID, letting producers shape between four distinct distortion states from a single draggable morph node. Here's more details direct from the company...
Each group runs one of 34 algorithms across six families: wavefold, clip, saturate, overdrive, fuzz, and digital. Per-group filters (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, comb, phaser, formant and others) let each group occupy its own spectral space, so the morph gesture reshapes timbre and tone together.
16 modulators with up to 32 targets each drive the GRID and any other parameter in the plugin. The morph position is itself a modulation target, enabling automated or performance-driven grid walks. The signal chain includes auto-gain matching, stereo M/S processing, a post-distortion 3-band EQ, and up to 16x oversampling.
Three factory presets (HellStorm, Aggressive, BlackHole) ship as fully editable starting points. Folda installs as a single build that runs in demo mode until a license key is entered.
Beyond the launch, Sentinel AV is producing a full YouTube tutorial series in collaboration with UK drum and bass producer Bladerunner - covering sound design, performance techniques, and creative workflows with Folda. Free preset packs will follow as ongoing community releases through Sentinel AV's mailing list and Discord.
