Superbooth 2025: Groove Synthesis - Third Wave 8M

We had a chat with Bob from Groove Synthesis, who gave us a look at the Third Wave 8M. This new addition is an eight-voice, two-part synthesizer that remains patch compatible with its larger counterparts, the 24-voice keyboard and desktop models. The 8M features the same analog filters, outputs, and a comprehensive backend, but at a more accessible price point of $1995.

Bob demonstrated the synth's capabilities, including its new sample library that features user wavetables and classic factory patches. He highlighted its internal MPC-based sequencer, which offers pattern and song modes alongside features like swing and quantization.

The interface boasts a seven-inch display with six encoders, ensuring all parameters are accessible on a single page. Connectivity options remain robust, with stereo outputs, USB connectivity, and MIDI ports. You can mount the 8M in a rack, adding versatility to its compact design.
