We had a chat with Xavi from Body Synths, who gave us a look at the Metal Fetishist Chrome Edition--a limited run version of their existing instrument with a new reflective chrome finish. The hardware itself remains unchanged, but the company has been steadily improving the firmware with monthly updates.
Xavi explained that despite the lack of a screen, they've implemented a new menu system that enables deeper control over the instrument's behavior. This includes reassigning the distortion section to other effects like phaser or pulse width modulation, and expanding modulation options to include parameters like volume decay time.
They're also working on enabling full MIDI playability, adding global behavior settings such as playback behavior and MIDI channel assignment. Though still in preview, these changes hint at a more flexible instrument without altering the hardware.
