NAMM 2025: Heil Sound RC-37 Wireless Mic Capsule

At NAMM 2025, we spoke to Ash from Heil Sound about their innovative RC-37 wireless mic capsule. The RC-37 is designed to be compatible with Shure, Sony, and Electrosonics wireless systems, immediately enhancing sound quality without the typical drawbacks found with condenser microphones. Ash highlighted its suitability for live sound use, notably its ability to maintain audio clarity even when cupped, which usually muffles other microphones.

The RC-37 was a contender for a tech award at the show, but just missed the prize which didn't deter the Heil team, who remained hopeful for future recognition. Ash explained that Heil's range caters to various use cases, from live sound to podcasts and broadcasts. Their flagship models, the PR40 and PR30, are trusted for drums, guitar amps, and bass cabinets. The RC-37 retails at $249 and is popular among touring artists and venue engineers who appreciate the clarity of its sound.
