Free VR-55 DrumComputer Plugin from SampleScience

SampleScience has introduced the VR-55 Drum Computer, a free virtual instrument plugin inspired by the Boss DR-55 drum machine. Known for its use by early 80s bands like Depeche Mode, the DR-55's analogue drum sounds are available now as a free plug-in.

The VR-55 includes the original four drum voices--kick, snare, rim, and hi-hat-- and a new cymbal sound derived from a modified DR-55 unit. Three replicated drum kits allow for layering and customizing drum sounds.

Features include:

• Original analogue drum sounds from the 1980s
• Additional cymbal sound not found in the original hardware
• Six onboard effects: distortion, delay, reverb, sub, tape, and vinyl
• Multi-LFO, amplitude range controls, and high-pass/low-pass filtering

The VR-55 DrumComputer is available as a free download in VST, VST3, and AU formats for both Windows and macOS.
