At Knobcon 2024, Swamp Flux's Wray Bowling introduced us to the Biggest Foot, his first Euro Rack module.
Wray wanted to find a new use for some of the millions of old Wii balance boards gathering dust in cupboards and thrift stores, and designed a Eurorack mudule that connects via Bluetooth and allows for control of up to 9 CV parameters, by moving around on the board.
The board is calibrated for each user, and outputs CV in unipolar or bipolar forms, allowing dynamic, responsive and complex patches.
You can also record your movements into a buffer and play back the sequence of moves - plus there's a random feature that can introduce some unexpected results.
It's hugely expressive, and offers a way of direct control over several CV parameters using your body movement that's really intuitive - and a heck of a lot of fun! ;-]
