SUPERBOOTH 2024: Austrian Audio - OC818 Condenser Microphone

At Superbooth 2024, Kurt from Austrian Audio showcased their latest products to the Sonic State team, including the OC818 flagship microphone. This professional true large condenser microphone features a unique ceramic capsule handmade in Vienna. The OC818 has switchable polar patterns, but what sets it apart is the ability to record the back side of the capsule via a breakout cable. This allows for post-production manipulation of polar patterns frequency-dependently, offering a new level of versatility in recording.

In addition to the OC818, Austrian Audio also presented the MiCreator Studio, a portable studio solution aimed at content creators and musicians. This device functions as a stereo audio interface with a condenser electret microphone, allowing for quick and easy recording with an iOS or Android device. With features like dual headphone outputs and analog monitoring with zero latency, MiCreator Studio provides a practical and affordable solution for on-the-go recording.
