US Rocky Mountain Sounds Polar Ice X features 1020 patches      27/05/21

Rocky Mountain Sounds has released Polar Ice X for Omnisphere 2. They describe it as a massive collection for Omnisphere 2 with new custom soundsources featuring:

  • 1020 patches
  • 52 multis
  • 126 soundsources

Here's more details direct from Rocky Mountain Sounds...

Explore nearly unlimited pads designed to be lush, expressive and highly playable. Extensive use of modwheel and aftertouch transform each sound and invite you to explore.

The Omnisphere Orb is used extensively for the large collect of Orb Pads – adding never ending flow and atmosphere to each pad.

  • Bell pads are the hallmark of Polar Ice and with the new X-factor- each one has been updated using timbre settings to change the way each bell sounds against the pads.
  • Ice pads utilizes field recording metal attack samples for an extra frosty effect.
  • Vox pads focus on choir and pad combinations that add a cinematic and nostalgic flair to the collection.

Beyond pads, Polar Ice X gives you an entire standalone collection of deep atmospheric basses and plucks – utilzing new custom soundsources from the Prophet 12 and Juno synths. Signature lead patches are super expressive and give amazing control when used with modwheel, pitchbend, and aftertouch.

A complete collection of ambient texture soundsources give you underscore elements that add depth and character to your projects. Polar Evo and Polar Genesis patches are great for crafting beds of dark and uneasy textures. They are combined with Omnisphere's own "Whale" samples that inject the sounds of nature in an unatural way.

A special "Shores" variation of patches are found throughout Polar Ice X – adding processed vocal wind and rain effects that transport you to the days of explorers as they sailed through the North Atlantic in search of new lands. This concept is found throughout the Multis section with names that call back to historical events.

PlugInGuru Unify support comes with this collection – giving you instant access to each Polar Ice X patch and multi inside of the Unify interface.

As a bonus, 59 additional "Unify" patches are found at the end of the collection in the Unify browser – taking advantage of the multi-core performance features as well as full macro control mapping to Unify effects like distortion filter, reverb, delay, and the side-chaining monster Pump House – which transforms Polar Ice X at a turn of the macro knob.

If nearly 1100 sounds wasn't enough- head over to the Omnisphere Arp page and turn on the arp power button. Each patch has it's own pre-programmed pattern that instantly doubles the value of this collection and expands on the creative potential.
