Your Chance To Help Develop A Microphone

Aston Microphones has just launched a global campaign to create the first ever microphone, Aston Element,  which has the sound developed by public vote in blind listening tests online.

They believe that no other audio manufacturer in any sector has ever attempted such an ambitious project. They say that, not only is it empowering the public to have a say in how their recordings sound, but it's giving thousands of home studio recording enthusiasts the chance to get involved in a global music project from home while under COVID-19 lockdown.

The project runs until July 15th, at which point the company will be moving to the production phase.

Aston Microphones describe themselves as the only mainstream UK microphone manufacturer as they make the mics in the UK as opposed to Chinese OEM. They tell us that they have been coping extremely well with manufacturing and export under lock-down, despite no government support or grants. Their business has more than tripled since March, which they believe is a reflection of how many people are engaging in home recording as something to occupy their minds right now.

A spokesperson told us, "We are only 4 years old and it's been a very tough ride for us to get where we are in such a short time, but we have already been nominated for 3 NAMM TEC Awards, Won Best in Show, and actually won our first TEC this January... no other Pro-Audio company in the world, in any niche, has ever achieved this, and we're up against some very big hitters. We work directly with more than 600 of the biggest names in music...  Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande Coldplay, Don Broco, Nothing but Thieves, The Royal Shakespeare Company, IDLES, Noel Gallagher, Kylie... and many, many more. These are all artists who use and love our products - not paid for endorsees.. we don't do that.. just real artists who really use our mics."
