In January 2020, birdkids in collaboration with formlabs are introducing °Grid, the first product in a series of handheld, wireless controllers for creative, mixed-modality applications. They say that the series focuses on tactile expression in the 21st Century to interact intuitively & learn skill-sets hands-on — by augmenting Mobile-computing platforms with haptic HMIs. °Grid is an interactive controller that enables the user to experience the rich world of creative Apps, as never before. Play keys, make beats, sequence, remix sound and video, control light, launch clips and much more — effortlessly on-the-go.

°Grid pairs with any iOS / Android / PC device wirelessly or via the on-board USB Type-C port for the ultimate hands-on experience.

°Grid employs LED-backlit, durable, pressure-sensitive pads and a unique multidirectional modulation joystick to enhance any workflow.

A cross-platform, companion App visually maps parameters to pads and enables color-coding as well as saving presets for instant recall to control any Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi™ enabled, MIDI / OSC compatible App or external Hardware.

Lightweight, enclosures, made out of biodegradable materials in multiple color finishes offer individual style choices.

A high-capacity, built-in, rechargeable Li-Ion battery ensures 24/7 freedom of mobility and empowers capturing the creative spark — anywhere and anytime!
