Monade Sounds tells us that their new Pure606 is a sample-based emulation of the legendary Roland TR-606.This is the story in their own words...

The 606 is an analog drum machine released in 1982 that was used by artists from wildly different genres such as Aphex Twin, Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Plastikman, Sisters of Mercy, Autechre, Moby, Luke Vibert, Orbital, Mr. Oizo, Cirrus and many more. At its core, Pure606 use a pristine set of TR-606 samples recorded at 24 bit, 44.1 khz (DVD audio quality). We also resampled the 606 through various samplers, computers and machines. Among them the Akai MPC60, an old Amiga computer, the NES & Sega Master System soundchips, various tube amplifiers and more.
