As we all eagerly await the arrival of Live 9 on March 5th, the boffins down at Cycling '74 have been busily preparing Max to fall in line with Live. Although this is only a beta release, many changes have been made to support the 64bit architecture. The full release notes can be read here which detail all the changes including new Gen features, improved load times, and other optimisations.

MaxforLive is now fully included in the suite bundle of Live 9. As well as a host of 25 new devices bundled with it, including new drum synths and a convolution reverb. And I suspect that this move will get more people at least using the MaxforLive even if they wouldn't dare to enter the world of the patcher, abstraction, jitter, Gen, MSP etc etc...
