Universal Audio Releases Capitol Studios

Universal Audio Inc. (UA), has announced Capitol Studios, a new native room modeling and reverb plug-in for macOS and Windows. Here's what they have to say...

Capitol Studios has been a cornerstone of recorded music since the Capitol Tower opened in 1956, its studios designed to match the building's futuristic ambition, with precise acoustics and subterranean echo chambers.

Now, with Capitol Studios, musicians and producers can mix vocals, drums, guitars, and more in Capitol Studios A and B -- home to records by everyone from Frank Sinatra and Bob Marley to Green Day and Daft Punk.* The plug-in brings the studio's rooms, microphones, processors, consoles, and famed underground echo chambers into any DAW.

"Capitol Studios remains an integral part of record-making history, and we wanted to capture what makes these rooms special," says Will Shanks, Senior Product Designer at Universal Audio. "Together with the Capitol team, we're bringing the sound of these iconic rooms to more musicians and producers, wherever they create."

Key Benefits
    •    Capitol Studios A and B. Track vocals, drums, and ensembles in the same rooms Frank Sinatra and Billie Eilish recorded in.
    •    A Historic Mic Locker. Hear tracks through vintage microphones with setups curated by Capitol alum Steve Genewick.

    •    Decca Tree Ensemble Setups. Send strings, horns, and vocal groups through the time-tested three-mic orchestral array used on countless albums.
