We covered the work of Alice Boyd a few months ago, and here she is behind the scenes at the BBC Proms 2026, performing at the Royal Albert Hall in late September. Using field recordings & found sound, she performed as part of 'Ultimate Calm', which featured music inspired by nature and landscape, blending classical, ambient and electronic sounds. Alice played her song 'Symbiosis' and you can listen to the full performance here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0030dvr
More form the video:
A behind the scenes video of my experience performing at the BBC Proms as part of Ultimate Calm at the Royal Albert Hall. In this video, I take you through the process of preparing for the performance - from creating the ambient soundscapes and field recording-based pieces that featured throughout the Prom, to rehearsing my song Symbiosis, preparing the live set and heading into rehearsals and soundcheck at the Royal Albert Hall.
It was such a special evening to be part of, bringing together ambient music, orchestral performance and sounds from the natural world in one of the most extraordinary spaces I've ever performed in. The video ends with a little glimpse of the performance itself. Thanks so much for watching! BBC Proms: Ultimate Calm Royal Albert Hall, London 27 August 2026
