Modular Commune Beijing 150 Artists To Play

Modular Commune returns to Beijing for its eleventh consecutive year, running October 23-25 with 150 live performing artists - yes you did read that right - music and performance is at the heart of the event, with many artist from Asia and Europe coming to play. 

The festival is free to attend, and the organisers are pleased at how it has grown -  serving the synth community in China and the wider East Asia region. And the big news is that we'll be there - editor Nick is heading over to cover the event and will be posting videos, and also Music China the following week.

Four stages run back to back across the three days: Modular Live, Ambient Live, Boxing Ring (powered by VOID Acoustics) and a Dolby Atmos Stage powered by Genelec and Eventide.

Masterclasses are hosted by Eric Schlappi, Ann on Bast, SOMA Laboratory, Elektron and Instruo. There are also DIY workshops, a non-stop performance schedule and a synth expo.

Brands confirmed for the expo include 203 Systems, Ableton, ALM Busy Circuits, Australian Tactile Instruments, Befaco, Donner, Elektron, Erica Synths, Error Instruments, Eventide, Genelec, Instruo, MIDIPLUS, Outlying Audio, Robkoo, Roland, RYK Modular, Schlappi Engineering, Shakmat, SOMA Laboratory, Sonic Vein, Steinberg, Synido and Theresyn.

Entry is free with three days of back-to-back sets, workshops and the expo with no ticket required.
