Polymorphic Comb & Mutation Engine

US Isobar's Serratus module features 9 comb filters and 9 mutations      28/08/26

Isobar Indiustries has launched Serratus, described as a new module that features 9 comb filters and 9 mutations, which combined with deep sound sculpting parameters, provide completely unparalleled sonic exploration. A spokesperson told us, "Make drones, noisy blasts, and even demented choirs with this beast of a module. Required viewing for fans of the Vhikk X, Befaco Oneiroi, or noise, industrial, and dark techno of all kinds."

Here's more details direct from the company...

A matrix of resonant delay bodies and mutations. Serratus weaves nine comb algorithms against nine distortion, saturation, and mutation processes, with each intersection morphable in real time. Chaos and generative modulation treat the whole system as a living organism, while independent routing places filter, distortion, and reverb before, inside, or after the feedback loop, sculpting everything from string plucks and resonant percussion to frozen spectral drones and chaotic self-generating textures.

Features
    •    Nine comb algorithms, from clean pitched delays through physical-model resonators to spectral processors.
    •    Nine mutation algorithms spanning analog saturation, digital destruction, and JPEG compression adapted to audio.
    •    Two independent engines you can step through one at a time or morph (crossfade) between, with per-slot muting and sequencing.
    •    Stereo reverb with two voices: a dark plate (Ore) and an octave up/down shimmer (Aer).
    •    Leech modulation engine driving the panel's macro parameters. The organismic side produces slow, biological drift; the chaotic side produces sharp, stochastic motion.
    •    Internal envelope-follower mod bus: route the envelope to almost any knob as an attenuverter.
    •    Buffer freeze with live scrub, detune, drift, and sustain.
    •    Three independent insert points (pre / mid / post) for the mutation, reverb, and filter.
    •    True V/Oct tracking across the full 10-octave range.
    •    RGB LED ring displays pitch and octave; the comb and mutation rings show algorithm selection.
    •    Bipolar ±5 V CV input for some parameters, and 0-5v CV inputs for others, a Freeze gate input, and an envelope-follower CV output (0–5 V).
    •    Daisy Patch SM core: 48 kHz, 32-bit float.
