Yamaha has a long legacy of arranger keyboards, we still have a DJX around here somewhere. Today they have announced the PSR-SX620, a 61-key arranger workstation that becomes the new entry point to the PSR-SX series. It is available now for $1,199.99.
The instrument carries over the series' headline features: more than 1,000 Voices, 450 auto-accompaniment Styles, Super Articulation (S.Art!) voices for realistic performance nuance, and a redesigned panel layout with a joystick controller and two assignable Live Control knobs. There's also a Chord Looper for capturing chord progressions in real time, Multi Pads for triggering phrases and WAV samples, Bluetooth audio for streaming from your phone, and a built-in audio recorder.

Key features:
Yamaha has also redesigned the speaker system. A new internal bass reflex port and an enlarged sound chamber improve bass depth and low-frequency response, and the cabinet structure is said to produce a tighter, cleaner sound. Line output circuitry has been upgraded for a clearer signal when feeding an external PA or recording setup.
Software support includes the EXPANSION EXPLORER app for discovering and installing expansion content, and MIDI Song to Style for converting standard MIDI files into playable Styles with intros, endings, main sections and fill-ins. The PSR-SX620 also works with Yamaha's Chord Tracker app.
The PSR-SX620 sits below the PSR-SX720 and SX920 in the current range, making it the most affordable route into the series. It is aimed at solo performers and home musicians who want full-band accompaniment without menu-diving.
