MuLab 10.2 Adds Routing, Drum Tools and Live Scene Layering

MuTools has released MuLab 10.2, which they say is a  substantial update to its modular DAW and plugin that tightens plugin compatibility and adds a handful of practical modules and workflow tweaks for building instruments, effects and performance sets.

• Improved plugin support: general compatibility and stability updates for running third-party plugins. (MuLab already supports VST3 and CLAP from earlier 9.x updates.)
• New Audio Gate module: level or sidechain-controlled gating for cleaning up signals or rhythmic chops.
• Enhanced Drum Note Processor: flexible pad counts, multiple pad layouts and choke options for tighter kit control.
• Audio Dispatcher overhaul: independent input/output control with realtime 1->N, N->1, N->N and N->M dispatching for splits, merges and complex parallel chains.
• Virtual MIDI Keyboard updates: multi-channel operation and an Always Active key map for quick testing and layered triggering.
• Live Scenes layering: play scenes on top of other scenes and clips for more fluid live arranging.
• Composer front panels: composers can now have their own customizable front panel.
• Visual polish: improved level meters and modular cable editors for clearer patching and gain staging.

MuLab remains available as a stand-alone app and as a plugin inside other hosts, with the MUX-style modular engine at its core. The updated Audio Dispatcher makes parallel processing and cue mixes straightforward, while the Drum Note Processor changes will suit anyone building custom pad rigs or choke-group kits. Live Scenes stacking is good for performance and sketching ideas without stopping the transport.
