GearExpo UK 2026: Yamaha MGX16V Digital Mixer With HDMI Audio Embed

We spoke with Chris from Yamaha at GearExpo UK 2026, where he introduced us to the new MGX Series Mixers. This series, comprising models like the MGX-16V and MGX-12, add some interesting features - especially for those working with video.

The core concept of these mixers is their ability to integrate seamlessly with video content, featuring an HDMI input and output. This enables the mixers to handle both audio and video, allowing you to extract and mix sound from video feeds, and re-embed the mix into the HDMI output as well at a USB-C webcam output, so you can send the final out to OBS or YouTube etc.

With eight combi inputs on the 16-channel model, stereo outputs, and four dedicated headphone outputs with individual mixes,  you can send up to 16 discrete outputs.


The MGX series launched in January, with the 16V model available at around £1,300. The mixers cater to live, studio, podcasting, and streaming needs with plenty of connectivity options, including Bluetooth and USB.
