Tonalic – the plug-in from the creators of Melodyne – brings real performances by world-class studio musicians directly into the DAW, adapting them musically to your own chords, tempo, and groove, with the sound, the feel, and all the detail that lives between the notes. Tonalic is a platform that expands regularly, at least every three months, with recordings of new musicians and styles. Today, percussionist David Kuckhermann broadens the library's percussion palette, with a new instrument at its heart: the calabash. Rarely heard in modern production and unfamiliar to most, it brings a warm, organic sound of its own. Around it, the update widens Tonalic's hand-percussion world with new cajons, congas, udus, and brush-played djembes, equally at home in singer-songwriter, pop, EDM, and hip-hop productions. And unlike one-bar loops, these are full performances that no loop player can recreate.

The Grammy-nominated percussionist and multi-instrumentalist David Kuckhermann has performed on stages around the world, from the Royal Albert Hall in London to tours with Dead Can Dance. Having learned from masters across the traditions of Iran, India, Egypt, Turkey, Europe, and Africa, he weaves those influences into a style entirely his own, one that joins traditional percussion with a forward-looking, creative approach. His recordings, with their numerous variations, transitions, and endings, are a genuine enrichment for the Tonalic library.
