At Superbooth 2026 we had an insightful conversation about the Skopje dual quantizer and the prototype Budapest dual comb filter module. Skopje stands out with its ability to store up to 100 banks, each containing 100 scales, including microtonal variants via Scala files. It can act as a compositional tool with features like scale cycling via assign input, glide control, and chord programming, providing creative opportunities for modular synthesis setups. Retailing soon at about 280 euros, Skopje will be available in stores next month.
We then explored the Budapest module, which processes stereo signals through two parallel comb filters. Each filter can operate independently with modes altering harmonic content. The module boasts built-in LFOs with synchronization options, adjustable feedback routing, CV control, and more, promising a rich palette of audio textures. While exact pricing is yet to be announced, an autumn release is anticipated, offering an innovative addition to your synthesizer toolkit.
