At Superbooth 2026 we had a chat with Timo and Janne from Supercritical about Redshift 6 This device has seen substantial updates since its release, enhancing its functionality with numerous features. The recent update, version 1.7, introduced new effects, an arpeggiator, and a sequencer for each part, in addition to MPE support and macros, setting it apart with advanced modulation options.

Redshift 6's analog filter can now be configured in unique ways to act as a phaser or dual resonance system. An impending update is set to introduce a new DCO engine for digitally controlling oscillators, allowing intricate phase control that leads to complex static harmonics similar to digital synths, despite maintaining an analog core.

It's equipped with a sophisticated polyphonic sequencer that allows up to six notes per sequence, suitable for creating intricate polyrhythmic patterns. You can explore these features via the intuitive front panel layout, designed for easy access to modulation and sound-shaping tools.
