We spoke to Mark at Analog FX during Superbooth 2026 where he introduced us to the Larynx Analog Format Synthesizer a modern take inspired by the classic Syrinx from the Dutch synth company Synthon This synthesizer stands out with its unique filter section, featuring two peak filters and a low-pass filter, allowing you to create distinct formant sounds. The Larynx offers two VCOs, a sub-oscillator, a ring modulator, and a noise source, accompanied by standard ADSR envelope generators for both the filter section and the VCA.
New additions include pulse width modulation adjustable via static or LFO sources, an arpeggiator, a sequencer offering 16x16 steps, and a stereo delay. While currently compatible with Eurorack modules, a keyboard integration enhances its functionality. Initially limited to 50 pieces, the Larynx is priced around €1,200, with a release anticipated for September. Analog FX is also exploring the development of a polyphonic version.
