Superbooth 2026: 4ms: Mesa Reverb + Levelling EQ Amp

We met up with Ross from 4ms at Superbooth 2026 and he showed us their new module Mesa

Mesa is a stereo reverb module designed in collaboration with Valley Audio and is based on the Dattoro plate reverb algorithm originally developed for Valley's Plateau software module. In hardware form, it offers a detailed and spacious reverb character that works well for both subtle ambience and more heavily processed textures. The module runs at high internal resolution and has a noticeably clean, dense sound, particularly in longer decay settings where the reverb remains smooth without becoming overly metallic or harsh.

Ross then showed us his first design for 4ms the LEQA or levelling eq amplifier which is a compact end-of-chain processor that combines optical-style compression, fixed-curve EQ, and stereo width control in a single 14HP module. Drawing inspiration from classic studio tools like the LA-2A and 1073, it focuses on straightforward operation rather than deep parameter control, using preset frequency points and simple controls to make tonal shaping and dynamics processing quick to dial in.
