We heard the news that Sam Battle aka Look Mum No Computer was to be the UK entrant for the delightfully cheesy and many people's guilty pleasure that is the Eurovision Song Contest for 2026 a couple of weeks back. And today we get to hear and watch the video for the song - its titled: Eins, Zwei, Drei .
Sam is a self confessed Eurovision fan and the song he's entered is certainly covering the brief, catchy and coming in at a pop friendly 3.29. We can't figure out if its a work of genius or not. But watch to the end for the transition from 16ths to triplets - nice.
Its got all the ingredients, and in many ways is more Eurovision than anything the UK have entered for years. On first listen, aside from the clearly British accent, you could be forgiven for thinking it was from one of our European neighbors.
The video also features many of his fabulous DIY synth creations and would seem to imply that they will be on stage at the actual live show - that's a win in itself.
We also love that the props and sets are things we have been seeing from Sam for years including his beloved Mini, anyone concerned that he would be sanitized for a Eurovision audience aside from better video quality and lighting (and presumably budget) can rest easy. he must have had a blast doing it.
Good luck to him we say - its still hard to believe that he got the gig.
Hold on tight Sam, its gonna be a wild ride!
The Eurovision finals will be televised in many countries with an estimated live audience of over 150 million. The qualifiers are on 12th and 14th May and the grand final on 16 May 2026. As far as we know, the UK entry will automatically qualify, as it is one of the largest financial contributors to the competition.
