Tape Playback from Any Input

The sound of cassette has continued to ring out across the 2020s, which may be a surprise for anyone who enjoyed the format 30 or 40 years ago.  The process of putting your recordings on tape can be laborious compared to modern data transfer speeds, but this project is a fun way to experience any sound source as played back on tape. It records any input to the tape loop and plays it back - it even has Bluetooth so no input cables are required - pretty cool... 

I built the ultimate lo-fi cassette machine -- a fully analog tape loop player with Bluetooth input, a glowing VU meter, custom PCBs, and a stainless-steel enclosure. It streams music over Bluetooth, records it onto tape, and plays it back with real analog warmth, tape saturation, and that wobbly lo-fi character.
