KoSMIX Research & Development

Facebook users with an interest in retro doohickeys should definitely check out KoSMIX Research & Development. This (admittedly private) Facebook group details the adventures of Roger Helfers, aka DJ KoSMIX; as he searches long-defunct forums and archived web pages for nuggets of audio gold.

After obtaining a new XP music laptop (an old netbook I'm getting a kick out of upcycling!), I've been following his posts with great interest; downloading a bunch of (actually really cool sounding) software - from long-forgotten VST instruments to full virtual modular environments.

Emulation can be a good choice for experiencing old software, but I've been quite enjoying my little air-gapped XP sanctuary!
