Vintage Computer Festival GB Promises Musical Delights

June 19th-21st 2026 promises to be a great time for fans of retro-computing and their accompanying audio gadgets. Vintage Computer Festival GB is set to return in an explosion of pixels and beeps. 5 floors containing Manchester's Northwest Computer Museum & Leigh Spinners Mill will be turned into a retro paradise. What's more, there'll be a bunch of musical performances that utilize old tech in exciting ways. Organiser Simon Hewitt had much to say about the event:

"Back in 2010, we created the largest retro and vintage computing event that Britain had ever seen. It opened up the various groups and communities of collectors to a wider audience, creating a festival unlike any other. As the years have passed, various other retro computing and gaming events have taken place. Some even tried imitating parts of what we did, but it wasn't quite the same. VCF-GB returned a few years later, but for various reasons we've been away for a while and busy on other projects.

I'm pleased to say that I have big news. Vintage Computer Festival GB will be back in 2026. We already have some of the key players in Britain's retro computing communities involved, including some very special and experienced stakeholders. We also have full endorsement and support from the Vintage Computer Federation. This will be a very exciting and special festival weekend like nothing else."

The full musical lineup is yet to be confirmed, but I can confirm that I (Paulee, lol as if you couldn't tell!) have been asked to play a set and possibly, also host a stall full of retro-musical goodies! If you have a specific piece you'd like to see on that table then let me know. It's always nice to see the retro community coming together, and Simon had these words to say:

"I know there are various communities, groups, gamers and even museums who were inspired by VCF-GB and what we achieved. Some have tried forming events of their own. What I would like to propose is this - come and join us, and let's create something truly exceptional together.
