Riddim And Ting Dub Devices From The Teenage Engineers

Ok so its a poorly kept secret, having already been leaked,  but today teenage engineering formally announced the riddim EP-40 derived from the EP-133 KO II with the sequencing, sampling and FX of the former but tuned to be more reggae, dancehall and dub when combined with the ting (the FX and mic) it focuses on sound system culture.

riddim also features a new LOP play mode, with mute/unmute pad functionality, allows you to build a live remix palette of tempo synced loops for quick on-the-fly arrangements. supertone, riddim's on-board synth engine comes with a selection of bass- and lead presets with dedicated tweakable parameters, as well as three unique, pressure controlled dub siren sounds.

The riddim soundbank holds a large selection of handcrafted drum and percussion sounds, bass, leads, chord stabs, sound effects, vocal shouts and multisampled keys, melodica and guitar - over 300 original samples styled for reggae, dub and dancehall from a number of incredible artists representing all corners of the scene.

These include bass, melody and drum stems plus one-shot drums, fx and vocal shouts. These artist projects are centered around riddim's new play mode and performance environment, letting you arrange and rearrange tracks from: king jammy, mad professor, mafia & fluxy,dre skull, mpc, rigo fuego, mighty crown and baby g.

As a complementary piece of hardware, EP-2350 ting is a standalone handheld FX microphone. ting plugs straight into riddim's line input or into any sound system, for adding vocals and effects to a performance. ting includes a clean voice mode and four effect presets: echo, echo+spring, pixie and robot.

The effects can be modulated live by either the lever or by motion. ting also contains four samples, which can be selected and triggered from ting's side buttons to add classic sound system hits like air horn and laser.
