HEDD Audio Unveils EDITION X

HEDD Audio has announced the launch of TYPE 05 A-CORE EDITION X, which they describe as a strictly limited anniversary edition of its acclaimed Type 05 A-Core studio monitor. They tell us that, limited to just 100 pairs worldwide, EDITION X commemorates both HEDD's 10th anniversary and founder Klaus Heinz's 40 years of pioneering loudspeaker design. Here's the details direct from the company...

Handcrafted in Berlin, each pair of EDITION X reflects HEDD's core values of quality, accuracy, and longevity. With 18k gold-plated details and upgraded materials, EDITION X is built for permanence--serving audio professionals, music lovers, and those who listen with intention--valuing nuance, precision, and timeless craftsmanship.

What Makes EDITION X Unique

EDITION X reimagines HEDD's celebrated Type 05 A-Core monitor with exclusive materials and meticulous refinements. At its heart lies a custom ENIG-finished PCB that guarantees unmatched signal purity, stability, and long-term durability. The design is elevated by 18k gold-plated details--Italian-crafted elements such as the backplate, tweeter grille, screws, and knobs--that combine extraordinary longevity with understated luxury. Unique golden accents, including engraved serial numbers, further emphasize its refined character. With only 100 pairs available worldwide, each monitor is individually hand-made in Germany, underscoring its rarity and artisanal craftsmanship.

Inspired by Gold

Gold has long symbolized the very qualities that define EDITION X. Its purity mirrors the all-analog signal path, which delivers uncolored and unprocessed sonic truth. Its longevity, rooted in gold's resistance to tarnish, is reflected in EDITION X's ENIG-finished PCBs and premium-grade materials, ensuring decades of consistent performance. Its rarity is embodied in the strictly limited run of just 100 pairs, each representing a once-in-a-lifetime edition. Gold's conductivity, among the highest of all metals, finds its parallel in the meticulous matching of analog components throughout EDITION X, guaranteeing supreme signal clarity. And finally, gold stands for revelation--when everything unnecessary is stripped away, what remains is truth, both in precious metal and in sound.

A Warranty Like No Other

As a tribute to Klaus Heinz's 40 years of audio innovation, one pair of EDITION X conceals a gold-plated, engraved warranty card offering 40 years of coverage--a pledge of permanence and a symbol of HEDD's enduring commitment to craftsmanship.

Beyond this special edition, all HEDD products, including EDITION X, come with a standard 5-year warranty, reflecting the company's long-standing confidence in the quality and longevity of its designs.

Craftsmanship Without Compromise

Every aspect of EDITION X, from its Air Motion Transformer tweeter to its meticulously crafted details, was conceived with a single purpose: to honor the purity of music and sound.

"Materials define components, and components define speakers," said Klaus Heinz, Founder of HEDD Audio. "With EDITION X, we wanted to create a monitor that embodies permanence, purity, and precision--both visually and sonically."
