Tim Exile Releases Finalist - Mixing Assistant

US Results without fuss      14/10/25

Not all of us are skilled in creating final mixes and it can be somewhat of a block to finishing tracks for release or just playing to other people. Tim Exile's previously un-named plug-in has now been named (not mixy mc mix face fortunately) as Finalist - and has had a UI makeover too.

The idea of Finalist is to drop in your stems, identify what they are (bass, drums, synths vocals etc) then apply some smart algorithms and processes (not AI) to make them sound good.

What Is It?
Finalist is a standalone mixing tool that runs inside the free Reaktor Player (MacOS 11–15, Windows 10–11). It's designed to get you to a great-sounding mix with minimal effort – just drag in your stems, pick a preset, tweak it, and export.

Why It Stands Out

  • No AI, No Cloud, No Waiting – Everything runs locally in real-time. Tweak like you're playing a synth and hear changes instantly.

  • Buy Once, Use Forever – £99 gets you the full version with unlimited mixes. 10% launch discount runs until the end of October.

  • Flexible but Friendly – 40 mix presets provide a range of starting points. Strength and gain knobs plus per-module locks offer deeper shaping without deep menus.

  • Pro-Level Processing – Finalist analyses your stems across 300 data points and applies multiband dynamics, transient shaping, mid-side tweaks, and analog-style warmth.

  • Clean Stem Export – Unique DSP architecture ensures perfect, artefact-free stem exports that match the final mix – ideal for stem release platforms like Beatport.

Who's It For?

  • Producers and musicians needing fast, release-ready mixes without hiring a mix engineer.

  • Engineers and sound designers looking to prototype different mix directions quickly.

  • Anyone who prefers to own their tools outright and work without internet dependencies.

Tim Exile who is one of the industry's good people with many Reaktor based releases with Native Instruments under his belt and a long history of live performing and music creation, as well as his Endlesss.fm (which sadly didn't make it), teamed up with graphic designer Efflam Le Bivic to create the UI for Finalist.

Its available now: timexile.com/finalist priced at 10% off at £89.
