Roland has announced the TR-1000 Rhythm Creator, a new drum machine that is the new flagship of the TR line. Its the first Roland drum machine in over 40 years to feature true analog voices, the TR-1000 integrates analog, digital, and sampling engines in a unit designed for performance-focused rhythm creation.
Roland says the TR-1000 was developed in collaboration with artists to push the boundaries of rhythmic experimentation, building on the legacy of the TR-808 and TR-909. The unit includes 16 analog voices recreated from the original circuits of those classic machines, using updated engineering and modern components.

In addition to analog sound sources, the TR-1000 features digital engines based on Roland's ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology, offering 21 circuit-bent TR-808 and TR-909 models, along with FM, virtual analog, and PCM-based percussion sounds. A sample library is also included, offering 2000 preloaded samples and 64 GB of onboard memory - with 46 GB available for user imports and recordings.
Key features include:
The sequencer has also been redesigned with expanded pattern manipulation and off-grid timing options to help refine groove and feel. Roland points to a focus on real-time interaction, with high-grip controls and ergonomic layout intended for hands-on performance.
The TR-1000 is available now, priced at £2286 / €2,699.99
