Bristronica 25: Song Athletics ORB

Will from Song Athletics  gave us a look at the ORB, short for Original Rompler Box. In its prototype phase, this device combined Song Athletics' virtual instrument expertise with open-source technology.

Using SamplerBox and a Raspberry Pi to create a portable solution for musicians wanting to integrate multi-sample instruments without relying on a computer. Featuring straightforward MIDI and audio connections, you can plug a MIDI keyboard straight into the USB port and switch between instruments using a simple control knob.

The ORB comes with an array of classic studio instruments and planned to support adding custom sounds, inviting further exploration of its potential.

It operates at a 44.1kHz, with stereo outputs.

Will mentioned plans for an initial batch release, gauging interest through direct feedback from the community.
