IK Update iLoud Precision Monitors With MKII

IK Multimedia  have introduced a new MKII for their iLoud Precision range of studio monitors - we reviewed the MK I and were impressed so we hope these are their equals.
The MKIIs feature a new graphene-reinforced tweeter design, improved time-alignment and phase response, and advanced enclosure tuning for better transient response and stereo imaging.

The MKII also have the newly developed ARC X  acoustic calibration system which can compensate for room nodes and help to flatten the response - they also allow for additional speaker emulations which can be useful for adding different responses when checking mixes.

Note: they do not come with the mounting pods or remote control as standard.

Key Updates and Features:

• ARC X Room Correction: Creates a 3D snapshot of the listening environment by measuring at three vertical positions for more accurate acoustic correction.

• Advanced Tweeter Design: Ultra-light tweeters with graphene reinforcement reduce distortion and improve detail reproduction.

• New Enclosure: Enhances clarity and stereo imaging, with support for immersive setups.

• Mounting Options: Built-in fixing points and optional metal brackets support flexible installation.

• ARC X Software Compatibility: Free for owners of previous iLoud Precision models, MTM MKII, Micro Monitor Pro, ARC Studio, and ARC 4.

The monitors feature a ±1 dB frequency response from 45 Hz to 30 kHz, with bass extension down to 37 Hz (-4 dB), supporting precision across the frequency spectrum for critical listening environments. In our tests of the MK 1 (we looked at the Precision 6) we were impressed with the sharp stereo imaging, impressive bass response as well as being pleasant to listen to rather than just clinical - which while useful for forensic mix checking can be hard work - the Precision (MK I) seemed to be able to nail both quality and vibe to our ears.
