Ableton today announce the public beta for Live 12.3. With several new headline features and numerous smaller fixes.
Stem Separation
Live 12 and Push 3 Standalone can split vocals, bass, drums and other sounds from any audio clip in Arrangement or Session View, or in the Browser, with just a couple of clicks. Algorithms are from MusicAI who specialize in audio models. Also opening up the possibility to convert to MIDI for re-voicing.
It's not clear if this happens locally or requires a connection to the MusicAI servers.
Splice Integration
if you use Splice (separate subscription) you can search and match audio from the extensive Splice sound library directly from the Live UI - dragging audio from your session will allow Splice to match rhythm and pitch for better matches
Bounce Groups and Paste Bounced Audio
You can now bounce a group track in place or a portion of that track, including processing to a new audio track. Paste Bounced Audio allows you to paste a copied clip or selection as bounced audio into any track or take lane. Just hit cmd/ ctrl + opt/ alt + v and whatever you've copied can be pasted as bounced audio multiple times, even with tweaks to the clip and processing between each paste.
New Auto Pan-Tremolo
For new rhythmic and spatial effects with a new tabbed layout.
Also there are new packs: Generators by Iftah for MIDI Tools
Expressive Chord Pack (12.2) now gets a chord edit mode.
A new Device A/B comparison, reduced minimum mixer height, new attributes for Max For Live API
Plus numerous bug fixes and whatnot - for a full list see the 12.3 Beta release notes
Push 3 gets a new pad mode - XYZ layout with turns it into a touchscreen style interface for sound shaping and expression.
If you own a Live 12 license, you can sign up for the Ableton beta program to try Live 12.3's new features now.
