A new album from Battery Operated Orchestra, always a treat - two of our favourite people and Chris and Brie make some lovely electronic music. Their previous release Compulsory Games - got a glowing review from Louder Than War:
Battery Operated Orchestra have pulled off yet another superb album. It is arranged and produced faultlessly – it really is difficult to find any blemish – and once again restores faith in British synth pop.
The new release This Is Not The End comprises previously unreleased tracks which were up to now only available to BOO's subscribers (the BOOsters) on Bandcamp.
This collection of 12 tracks is mostly instrumental, with opener Orange County with ambient vibes reminiscent of Ulrich Schnauss. Well worth a listen and full of lovely combinations of electronic sources.
The track featured in the video Jackdaw, comes from BOO's new album This Is Not The End. Originally a demo for their lauded album Compulsory Games, Jackdaw is based on a true story.
Singer Brigitte says, "We saw a Jackdaw survive a life threatening situation. It reminded us of that feeling of going through a dark time, then suddenly becoming free of it and you're just so happy to be alive."
