Melbourne Instruments Updates Roto-Control

US Firmware 2.0 brings full Bitwig Studio Integration      04/07/25

Melbourne Instruments has announced Roto-Control Firmware 2.0 with full Bitwig Studio integration. Here's the details in their own words...

Building on the momentum of their acclaimed motorized synths, NINA and DELIA, and the launch of their ROTO- CONTROL MIDI controller earlier this year, Melbourne Instruments is proud to announce the release of Roto-Control Firmware 2.0 with full Bitwig Studio integration and more new features.

With this update, Bitwig Studio users can now take full advantage of Roto-Control's groundbreaking motorized knob technology, complete with high-resolution screens, haptic feedback, and touch-sensitive control.

Firmware 2.0 brings new features and enhancements including:
• Sending MIDI notes and Program changes in MIDI Mode.
• Group track support in MIX Mode for Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio. • Remote Page navigation in PLUGIN Mode for Bitwig Studio.
• Manual and customization of racks/macros for Ableton Live.
• Linux support for Bitwig Studio.

About Roto-Control
Designed for a fast, intuitive workflow, Roto-Control features three powerful modes: MIX, PLUGIN, and MIDI with Motion Recorder.

In MIX Mode, Roto-Control syncs automatically with Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio, instantly displaying track names and colors pulled live from the session--no need to manually label anything. Track updates happen in real time with zero setup.

In PLUGIN Mode, parameters are learned once and saved locally, making recall instant across any system. One-touch setup and direct label mapping from Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio ensures a seamless experience every time.

With thousands of assignable parameters stored internally, Roto-Control is the only motorized MIDI controller that offers this level of portability, flexibility, and precision.

The Bitwig Studio integration is the result of close collaboration between Melbourne Instruments and Bitwig, responding to strong community demand. Bitwig Studio becomes the second DAW to offer native support for Roto-Control, with more DAW integration currently in development.
