Mastering.com Launches 7 Day Mastering Course

Mastering.com has just introduced a new short-form course called 7 Day Mastering - a practical, self-paced series designed to teach the fundamentals of mastering in just one week. It's aimed at producers and engineers stuck at the "intermediate plateau" - those who know their way around a DAW but can't quite get their mixes sounding like the pros.

The course is structured around a concept called Reverse Mastering Theory - the idea being that by understanding mastering first, you can better identify and fix core mix issues early on. It's a bold but logical take, and it mirrors the approach found in their flagship course, The Reverse Engineer.

Key skills taught include:

  • How to use reference tracks effectively

  • Practical compression and limiting workflows

  • Fixing muddiness and harshness with EQ

  • Cohesion across tracks - essential for albums or EPs

  • Building width, depth, and clarity into a mix

  • Critical listening techniques to reverse engineer pro mixes

  • Mastering mindset and workflow thinking

Format and Cost

  • 23 lessons across 7 modules

  • Lifetime access via Mastering.com's portal

  • Price: $99

It's all self-paced, so ideal for busy producers looking to sharpen their ears and skills without committing months of time.
