Superbooth 2025: Genki Instruments - Katla Synth

At Superbooth 2025, we spoke with Oliver from Genki Instruments, who introduced us to the Katla, a visually striking five-voice polyphonic synthesizer. Crafted with unique volcanic end sheets and adorned with matching dials, the Katla stands out aesthetically. Underneath its eye-catching exterior, it hosts a robust analog signal chain comprising five oscillators, filters, and wave filters, complemented by phase-distortion digital oscillators for precision tuning.

The synth offers a variety of effects including stereo reverb and analog drive, with the distinctive Katla parameters creating dynamic modulation through wow, flutter, ducking, and amplitude modulation. These parameters make the synth highly musical and engaging. Additional features include round robin mode, loopable envelopes, and flexible routing through its comprehensive LFO section.
