We had a chat with Lucas from XAOC who introduced us to the Oradea and its expander, Arad. The Oradea is an analog quad resonator featuring four bandpass filters designed to process and generate sounds while maintaining exceptionally high resonance and Q values. The emphasis was on creating a resonator effective for "pinging" without self-resonating, ensuring audible pings even at high frequencies. Each channel of Oradea hosts individual controls for frequency, peaking, and volume, which can be modulated via CV inputs.
Arad serves as a practical expander, offering control over Oradea's channels through muting, manual play features resembling a keyboard, and the ability to incorporate additional sound sources for processing. Lucas highlighted the flexibility of these modules with various patches, noting the expandability and refined tone-shaping capabilities the duo provides, making it a versatile tool in any modular setup.
