We had a chat with Jasper and Erwin from Majella Audio who gave us a look at the Implexus, a semi-modular analog synthesizer inspired by both East and West Coast synthesis philosophies.
He explained that the Implexus combined a triangle core oscillator with wavefolding and a resonant low pass filter to offer a flexible sound palette. A key design choice was to make the wavefolder continuously adjustable, allowing for subtle or more aggressive tonal shaping. The envelope section included looping capabilities, and the LFO could be pushed into audio rate for FM duties.
The synth featured extensive modulation routing via its patchbay, and despite being a desktop unit, its connections followed Eurorack voltage standards. Marcel mentioned that the Implexus was built in the Netherlands using high-quality components and was aimed at people who want a hands-on, analog experience without needing additional modules to get started.
