Superbooth 2025: Doepfer - 155 Compact Sequencer

We spoke to Dieter Doepfer and Holger Zapf from Doepfer who introduced the new 155 Compact Sequencer, also known as the Mini Analog Sequencer. This 12 HP unit allowed you to run an 8-step sequence and offered options like selectable running modes, ratcheting per step, and potential preset storage, though some software features were still in development. Holger also presented a versatile two-channel preamp module that could interface with a variety of audio sources, from mobile devices to piezo inputs, also usable as a distortion unit.

Dieter then introduced the A149-3 module, inspired by the Buchla's fluctuating random voltages but with additional functionalities such as noise outputs and processing options. Finally, Dieter showcased an upgraded ribbon controller featuring quantization across nine user-programmable scales, pressure sensitivity, a MIDI interface, and more.

The modules aimed for release by summer, with prices around €180 to €350.
