We spoke to Jake from RYK Modular about their latest creation, the Time Slice module, which was presented at Superbooth this year. The Time Slice offers four audio channels each with a two to three-minute buffer, allowing you to loop sounds or create delay feedback loops. The module features visual LED representations of audio, enabling you to see your input signals, such as a kalimba, travel around the display. It also includes flexible options like adjustable loop lengths, jump splice points, and three types of filters.
A standout feature is the ability to use high-quality pitch shifters and modulate loop speeds without affecting pitch, thanks to a pitch lock function. The module is equipped for extensive routing options, whether you're running mono or stereo with the ability to save and load audio via USB. The Time Slice is expected to retail around £400 and be available by the end of the summer.
