Sound Dust Releases Wurlitzer Toolkit

Sound Dust has released Wurlitzer Toolkit which they describe as a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt made by recording a WURLITZER 200 in all the wrong ways. It requires a FULL version of Kontakt 6.7 or above. Here's more details in Sound Dust's own words...

Wurlitzer Toolkit takes a beloved instrument and lovingly does new and loving things to it...not always that loving!

Yes, it's another electric piano, but this one is different (obvs), it sounds 'like' an electric piano, it carries the memory of electric piano-ness, but it also has its own unique sound that means it can function like an electric piano but without carrying the usual electric piano baggage.

At the rougher, more organic end of the electric piano spectrum, a real fully working Wurlitzer is a rare and wonderful beast. This Wurlitzer 200 is particularly special, it belongs to ex Sheryl Crowe, Oasis and current Noel G keyboard player Mikey Rowe, and it can be heard on records by all of the above. It also has the rare tremolo speed mod, so it does things that most Wurlis can only dream of.

Wurlitzer toolkit is recorded/misused in four different ways and then poured into four different instances of an expanded version of the DRIFT engine.

BAD WURLITZER
Pushed through the terrible live pitch shifting algorithm of an AKAI MPC 100.
Pitched down it sounds rather wonderful.
12 velocity layers ranging from one octave down to one semitone down

CHAOTIC WURLITZER
Trem speed knobs wiggled in real time.
Chaotic Wurlitzer has 3 velocity layers where every note has differently evolving wobble speed - speeding up, slowing down - whatever took my fancy at that moment.

FUZZY WURLITZER
Each note is recorded through the Dust Cloud Drive pedal by SzCz.
This is a gorgeous and brutal custom pedal made with salvaged original parts based on an Arbiter Fuzz Face.

GOOD WURLITZER
There has to be a proper version I suppose.
7 pristine velocity layers recorded straight into nice preamps with 'interesting' loops.

TERRIBLE WURLITZER
Upward MPC pitch shifting is even more GHASTLY than the classy downwards shifting.
Free version has 1 velocity layer, no presets  and much less of the snazzy controls
