The Sound of Four Dimensional Reverb

US Hard to visualize but possible to synthesize      07/03/25

Visualizing a fourth dimension is a confusing topic for many of us - often explanations of how it works make it even more confusing! Luckily in the realm of sound, we have the ability to replicate it, as shown in this video from AIHVHIA. Using Ray Tracing in 4 dimensions, he uses mathematical equations to replicate a 4D space, and the potential influence it has on acoustic reverbs - very interesting! Here are the time stamps:

Video Chapters:

01:25 The wave equation in higher dimensions
03:11 Ray tracing in 4 dimensions
06:45 Quick demo
06:57 Intuition for reverb in higher dimensions
08:25 4D geometry is actually cool
