NAMM 2025: Red Panda RD1 Pitch Delayer

US Pitch delay pedal for synths too      25/01/25

We caught up with Curt from Red Panda at their booth, where he introduced us to the RD1 Pitch Delayer, expected to hit the shelves mid-year. The RD1 is a streamlined, pitch-shifting and frequency-shifting delay pedal, utilizing the same algorithm as the Raster, but without the complexity. Designed with a 1200 millisecond delay and a 2400 millisecond reverse delay, it allows you to swiftly switch between forward and reverse modes. The pedal features a pitch shifter that operates either inside or outside the feedback loop, enabling continuous or single repeat shifts for evolving textural repeats. Additionally, the frequency shifter in the feedback loop provides creative phasing sounds. Its user-friendly controls are crafted for live real-time tweaking, with rubber knobs and raised pointers. Aiming for an accessible price point around $199, the RD1 is configured for mono but handles line-level signals, making it suitable for synths as well.
